In 2023, Pendle and Craven, Ben Rhydding, Bishop Monkton and Ripon Spa croquet clubs decided to play in a league of their own. It is known as The Cross Pennine league. In the first year, matches were either home or away. Ripon Spa won the league.

On 7th September, Pendle came to Ripon for the first time and settled quickly to our courts. We had created 2 extra courts for a tournament the following week, so there was no need for double banking and members could also play in the afternoon. Fortunately the morning was overcast, though the heat did build during the day. The result, while not close in games, was close in hoops. Pendle won 8 out of the 12 games and they won 69 hoops. Ripon won 60 hoops.
