Tuesday June 26th marked the first time Pendle visited us for a friendly match. The
day was blessed with wall-to-wall sunshine and high temperatures and the lawns
were in excellent condition thanks to Liz and Michael’s efforts.
By lunchtime, Ripon were in the lead – just! However, the break for lunch seemed to
work to Ripon’s disadvantage and by the end of the afternoon, Pendle had drawn
ahead by a safe margin and emerged the winners. It was a most enjoyable day’s
play with congenial company and we look forward to visiting Pendle for a return
friendly later in the season.
