Our third match was been postponed to 23rd September and was cancelled due to the prospect of foul weather.

Our fourth match was against Ben Rhydding on 23rd August. We travelled through the detritus of storm Lilian the night before and were concerned that the weather would prevent play. As it turned out, there was a little intermittent drizzle and a lot of sunshine. 3 games went to hoop 13. The result was Ripon Spa 7 games and 70 hoops; Ben Rhydding 5 games and 59 hoops. A high point of the day was Robert achieving an index of 1500. His handicap is now 5.

The photographer was playing, so no ‘action’ pictures.

Our second match was at home against Pendle and Craven on 29th July on a wonderful summer’s day. The matches were generally played in a sense of friendly competition. The hosts ran 60 hoops to the visitors’ 53 and the game was drawn at 6 games each.

Our first match took place at Bishop Monkton on 16th July. Bishop Monkton won 7 games with 65 hoops; Ripon Spa won 5 games with 52 hoops.
