After the end of the 2024 season, the four clubs agreed to play each other on a home and away basis. The host and visitor club will be determined after the YCF fixtures have been advised. The results of the matches between the four clubs, played in the YCF level play league, will be combined with the results of the matches between the four clubs in the Cross Pennine level play league, to determine the winner of the trophy .
The dates for Ripon Spa’s matches for this year are set out below.

Ripon Spa’s first match in 2025 took place at Bishop Monkton on a lovely summer’s day on 11th June. Bishop Monkton took an early lead and never relinquished it. They won 11 games and scored 79 hoops. The visitors managed one game and 48 hoops. Plenty of room for Ripon to improve.
Our second match in 2025 took place at Ben Rhydding on another lovely summer’s day on 18th July. We got off to a good start and before lunch, we had won 4 games and had run 35 hoops, against the home team’s 2 games and 33 hoops. Some of the games went to hoop 13. After lunch, the singles were completed and we won 4 further games, running 30 hoops; Ben Rhydding won 2 games and ran 25 hoops. Only a couple of matches were uneven. A good spirit prevailed and then we had time for tea and cakes to finish off a lovely day.
Our final match was against Pendle and Craven on Monday 11th August, when it was starting to get hot again. Paul, Libby and Mike won the day by 10 hoops to our 2 and 74 hoops to our 54. Roger and Paul clocked up a record 13 minutes at hoop 1 on court 2.

In 2024, Bishop Monkton won the trophy with an impressive 5 points out of 6 and 22 games won.
In 2023, Pendle and Craven, Ben Rhydding, Bishop Monkton and Ripon Spa croquet clubs decided to play in a league of their own. It was known as The Cross Pennine league. Following representations by some players in the league, Pendle and Craven joined the Yorkshire Croquet Federation (YCF). The future of this league and of the YCF level play league was decided at the YCF general meeting on 30th April 2024.
